Geopolitics · Energy · AI Strategy

Clear judgement, predictions that hold up.

I advise boards, investors and institutions on geopolitics, energy and AI strategy. Most experts explain what has already happened; my clients pay for what happens next, backed by predictions that have held up on the record.

Senior Advisor on Geopolitics and Strategic Insights at Anthesis Group/Wallbrook. Forbes contributor and Cambridge PhD researcher, with experience spanning ADNOC Global Trading, the BBC and the UK Parliament, where I served as specialist adviser to the Foreign Affairs Committee. A working life across six countries, from the newsroom and the trading floor to parliament and the boardroom.

Who I am

Different careers, each one feeding the next.

I've worked across six countries and five fields, and none of them in isolation. Fifteen years as a world affairs journalist taught me to read a region before the headlines caught up. Advising the UK Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee showed me how that reading turns into policy. Working for ADNOC Global Trading in Abu Dhabi, including on AI adoption, I saw the same forces from inside a boardroom and a trading floor. Cambridge gave me the theory underneath it all.

That mix is the point. I've sat in the newsroom, the committee room, the trading floor, the lecture hall and the boardroom, and each one changed how I read the others. It's why I can take a geopolitical shift and say what it means for a balance sheet, a regulator and a negotiating table in the same conversation.

I rarely work alone. I draw on colleagues, expert networks and practitioner contacts across the UK, Turkey, Germany, Austria, the Gulf and the US, so a question about energy, the Gulf, Turkey or AI governance reaches someone who has lived it, not just read about it.

How I work with clients

Advisory that turns geopolitical noise into a clear read.

I advise corporate clients and am trusted by foreign ministries, bringing practitioner insight and on-the-ground experience together with academic rigour and a wide journalistic network.

01

Strategic intelligence retainer

An ongoing read on the risks that matter to you, with direct access between formal briefings. Energy, the Gulf, Turkey, AI sovereignty and political risk.

02

Executive briefings & talks

Closed-door briefings for boards and leadership teams, or a sharp, well-argued talk for a senior audience. In person or remote.

03

Narrative & thought leadership

Positioning, briefing packs and executive writing that carry a strategic argument, drawing on years of writing for senior readers.

I keep a small client list and work alongside established expert and practitioner networks, so each engagement reaches the right specialist. Some decisions don't fall to a single specialist. They need judgement built across geopolitics, energy, markets and policy, read together rather than in isolation. A short conversation usually tells us both whether I can help.
